Has been an educator for 28 years with Desert Sands Unified School District located in the Coachella Valley. A founder of the National Association of African American Parents and Youth. Active member and Praxis Shadow for Association Raza Educators (Los Angeles Chapter). Proud former member of the California Mini-Corp program serving migrant students. Reading tutor for Riverside County Office of Education Summer Migrant Reading Program. School site coordinator for the California English Learner Development Test. Served as Ethnic Minority and Human Rights executive board member for Desert Sands Teachers Association. Current member and Treasurer of California Teachers Association Women’s Caucus. Facilitator for California Educators United an affiliate of National Educators United. Also, a facilitator for the National Safe Return organization. A member and presenter for Community Response System South Los Angeles for the Black Student Achievement Plan. Additionally, a member and presenter for the California Teachers Association Divest committee.
